SESVA Supports the Bid for Additional Staff Funding
The President of the NSW State Emergency Service Volunteers Association, Charlie Moir, said that the Association supports the additional funding that will see the NSW SES better placed to assist the development of its volunteers.
The VA believes that in order for the SES to continue growing and supporting its most valuable asset - volunteers, there is a need for an increase in permanent staff to facilitate this process.
These additional positions will assist in reducing the burden placed on volunteers in the administrative realm. These new positions will also provide our volunteers with processes for better engaging and preparing our communities against the natural hazards that form the core response roles of the Service and support and protect them while undertaking their demanding roles within their communities.
The inclusion of strategic and management positions in this organisational growth means the Service will continue to develop its goals and objectives to enable streamlined processes and maintain business continuity at all times.
These frontline roles will strengthen the Service’s ability to respond to the needs of the community and its volunteers, and are most welcome additions to the corporate family.
