Golf day raises $5,000 for the SESVA

Almost 90 SES members, family, friends and sponsors participated in the inaugural SES Golf Day held at the Grange Golf Club in Wollongong on Friday 19 September 2008. The day received great support from sponsors with 13 organisations, many of whom are current suppliers, sponsoring golf holes and donating prizes for the presentation.

Teams from Wollongong City, Wollondilly, Kogarah, Fairfield and Hurtsville units participated along with 4 teams from SHQ. Deputy President of the SESVA, Frank Wilson, was also present on the day to represent the SESVA and accepted a cheque on behalf of members for $5,000.

Excellent feedback from participants has been received with many sponsors already saying they want to be involved again next. On the basis of this success, tentative bookings have been made for next year with the SES Social Committee keen to make the day an annual event.
