As the winds ease NSW SES warns people to prepare now - NSW SES

by | September 17, 2013

Overnight the NSW SES crews have attended to 27 new jobs around the Illawarra, South Coast and Sydney Metro areas. The main jobs for the NSW SES crews have been for fallen trees, roof damage and property destruction from the strong winds that hit the State yesterday.

The total number of jobs for this event is 642 with 548 jobs now complete. The main effected areas were the Illawarra, South Coast and Western Sydney.

NSW SES warns people to take extra care in these conditions. Many properties have experienced severe damage, with storm season only one week away the time is now to secure any loose items around your yard that could potentially be blown away by strong winds and storms.

Even though the severe weather warning has been cancelled by the Bureau of Meteorology today the community is warned that further events like this will happen this summer and preparation is the best defence. Head to www.stormsafe.com.au and prepare your property now.
