Downpour hits Macarthur region, affects roads, fields and Campbelltown Golf Club - Macarthur Chronic
by Peter Way | April 22, 2015
Campbelltown Golf Club suffered extensive flooding today with many bunkers turning into temporary water hazards.
As the region was belted with torrential rain, sections of the golf course were inundated with water after a creeek broke its banks. Water pooled in sand bunkers and swept across fairways, carrying litter and debris.
Campbelltown Golf Club site manager David Turner said the weather had been “unbelieveable”.
“We’ll be closed indefinitely until next week at least,” he said.
“The damage to the course combined with the lack of club revenue will cost the club many many thousands of dollars.”
