Rescue teams from NSW SES Kiama Unit and NSW Ambulance released a man trapped in his vehicle for three hours near Berry this morning after the vehicle he was travelling in crashed and was skewered by a guard rail that speared the engine and exited through the boot.

The 24-year-old male driver of the Audi A6 was cut from the vehicle where his lower limbs were pinned by the guard rail and flown to hospital in a critical condition.
