Hundreds seek help from Hunter flood recovery centres - ABC News
by | May 4, 2015
The retired army officer overseeing the Hunter's flood clean-up says around 350 people have already sought help from the region's three disaster recovery centres.
The one-stop-shops were set up in Dungog, Raymond Terrace and Cessnock last week, while one is set to open in Wyong on Wednesday.
Thousands of homes were damaged by trees and floodwaters when last month's cyclonic storms hit the Hunter, Central Coast and Sydney regions.
Brigadier Darren Naumann said help is available from Legal Aid, Family and Community Services, Centrelink, as well as local charities.
