Member for Kiama Gareth Ward has today visited the Kiama SES Unit with the NSW Minister for Emergency Services David Elliott and presented them with a $5,000 New South Wales Government discretionary grant.

“Our Kiama SES volunteers provide a tremendous service to our local community. We are indebted to them for their selfless dedication and hard work across the Kiama community,” he said.

“I am very pleased to have secured this $5,000 funding for Kiama SES Team Leader Warren Turner and his volunteers who do such important work for local residents during emergency situations, like the mini tornado which Kiama experienced in early 2013,” Mr Ward said.

NSW SES Illawarra South Coast Region Controller Greg Murphy said the grant money will help the volunteers in carrying out important emergency response work.
