Salute to Hornsby SES volunteers who braved wild weather

WHILE most of us avoided going outdoors in last week’s wild weather a bunch of special people willingly braved the elements in order to help others.

Such is the extraordinary dedication of our local SES heroes, who put aside their own wellbeing for the sake of the community.

Among them was Normanhurst computer programmer Murray Oakley, who headed off after work last Monday and Tuesday, helping storm victims until well after midnight. He took Wednesday off work to continue the job and on Thursday he was out again from 6pm to 1am.
