SES rescue drill in Sydney's Darling Harbour shows the danger of floodwaters - ABC News
by By Joanna Woodburn | May 17, 2015
Crowds gathered at Sydney's Darling Harbour to watch a rescue of 'an unconscious driver' from a submerged car.
It could have been a scene from the recent flash flooding and violent storms across New South Wales.
But it was actually a simulation exercise by the State Emergency Service (SES) to demonstrate the dangers of floodwaters and give rescue crews vital practice in saving lives.
"You can see the penny dropping with a lot of the public, going oh wow, these volunteers actually that do that sort of thing," SES volunteer Paul McQueen said.
