THE North Shore bore the brunt of the heavy rainfall over the weekend but fortunately there was little damage.
Wahroonga had one of Sydney’s highest rainfalls, recording 64mm in the 24 hours to 9am Saturday, according to the Bureau of Meteorology. The areas with the highest rainfall were Mosman (74mm) and Forestville (70mm). West Pennant Hills had 45mm and Sydney (Observatory Hill) 18mm.
Wahroonga and Thornleigh were also lashed by strong winds and a hailstorm about 3pm Friday, causing chaos on the roads at school pick-up time.
