The Hunter region State Emergency Service has thanked hundreds of volunteers from interstate who have allowed locals to take a rest from the massive storm related clean-up.
The SES says the number of requests for assistance across the state has topped 20,000 since the storm hit last week, surpassing both the 1999 Sydney hailstorm and the 2007 Pasha Bulker storm event.
In the Hunter, there were around seven and a half thousand calls for help and 13-hundred and 72 jobs are still outstanding.
