Super Saturday Morning Update - NSW SES

by | May 2, 2015

The East Coast Low has moved to the inland of southern Queensland and is expected to move south today and to continue slowly weakening. Heavy rain and thunderstorms which may lead to flash flooding are forecast for parts of the Mid North Coast forecast district this morning.

NSW SES has received 619 jobs state-wide and a total of 12 x Flood Rescues since 30 Thursday 7pm. "Super Saturday" will see our Volunteers work even harder to complete as many jobs for their community in the effort to complete all outstanding jobs acquired since Monday last week.

The most significantly impacted localities are:

  • Lismore 58 jobs
  • Ballina 47
  • Wyong 42

A Evacuation Order has been issued for parts of Lismore (8 houses and 1 Caravan Park). Due to major flooding being predicted by BoM for the Wilsons River, the NSW SES have directed residents of Winterton Parade, Pitt Lane and Lismore Palms Caravan Park North Lismore to evacuate immediately.
