by | June 16, 2016
Wild weather that thrashed parts of Queensland and New South Wales over the weekend has moved south, with the east coast low pressure system reaching as far south as Tasmania amid warnings of heavy rain, flash flooding and damaging winds.
The NSW SES received more than 8,000 calls for help and carried out more than 250 flood rescues over the weekend.
The Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) has cancelled a severe weather warning for New South Wales, but flood warnings remain in place for many rivers around the state, including the Georges River, in Sydney's south-west.
