80 km/ hr winds havoc across region - St maryss Star - Mt Druitt

Eighty-kilometre an hour  winds  kept hundreds of SES officers very busy across western Sydney from before 3pm yesterday till the early hours of this morning.

One of the worst affected areas was  the Hills district where nine teams of  about 30 volunteers were called to remove fallen trees from houses, fences, cars, roads, driveways and backyards.

Hills SES controller Evelyn Lester said they attended  more than 40 jobs in Dural, Baulkham Hills, Castle Hill, North Rocks, Kenthurst and West Pennant Hills.
