Appin Valley estate suffers flash flooding after thunderstorm downpour - Macarthur Chronicle Wollond
by Peter Way | December 2, 2014
Residents in the new Appin Valley estate were confronted with a wall of water at the height of Sunday afternoon’s thunderstorm.
The storm hit the Camden and Wollondilly shire but caused most chaos in the Appin area.
Residents in Appin Valley found sections of the estate could not cope with the heavy downpour in a short space of time.
The estate’s park became a quasi-Olympic pool.
A resident of the estate said the park amphitheatre filled up to the stairs that led down to the grassed area.
“It would’ve been above my head if I was standing on the grass,” she said.
