Cadet program attracts city's best - Barrier Daily Truth

Broken Hill's State Emergency Service's Cadet Program was launched this week and it appears to have attracted some of the city's finest students.

Twenty-four cadets from Willyama and Broken Hill High schools signed on for the five-day course which aims to offer an insight into emergency rescue and a pathway to joining the local SES unit.

Although it is only the second time the cadet course has been held in the city, SES Deputy Regional Controller Far West, Marc Coulter, said it had proven to be an excellent event for both recruitment and education purposes.
