Canterbury SES receive a boost - Canterbury Bulldogs
Bulldogs proud corporate partner easy forex have donated a much needed boost to our local Canterbury State Emergency Services (SES), donating $5000 as part of the Bulldogs 2013 easy forex online trading competition involving James Graham and former Bulldog Dene Halatau.
The NSW State Emergency Service (SES) is an emergency and rescue service dedicated to assisting the community. It is made up almost entirely of volunteers, with 229 units located throughout New South Wales.
Long serving Canterbury Unit controller Lenore Nelson was on hand to accept the cheque along with team members Chris Nelson, Alex Biasotto, Bob Corbett and Simon Tabakanaca.
The SES’s core responsibilities include flood and storm operations; however they also provide the majority of general rescue effort in the rural parts of the state and support the full-time emergency services during major disasters.
With over 67 years service among the five representatives the money has found a very deserving unit at Canterbury; explained unit controller Lenore Nelson.
“With all of the storms and bushfires of late we have been extremely busy,” said Lenore.
“This donation will greatly assist our unit with purchasing specialised equipment which we can use for storm and flood events that we encounter, whether its trees on houses or roofs blown off.”
“The money will also assist repairs on our headquarters which burnt down in a fire eight years ago. We are still in temporary offices and have to do our own fundraising, so this money will be extremely beneficial,” said Lenore.
The Bulldogs would like to thank our very important corporate partner easy forex for their support throughout the season and in our local community.
