Council says ThankYou - The Young Witness
As their way to say thank you for their service, paid or voluntary, Young Shire Council put on a Christmas shindig for the town’s emergency workers on Thursday night.
Up to 60 guests from Young Ambulance, Young Police, Young SES, Young Fire and Rescue NSW and Young Shire RFS brigades, their partners and family members attended the party, which included dinner and music at the Empire Hotel.
The night included a thank you speech from mayor Stuart Freudenstein.
One of Young’s councillors recalls this is the 18th year council has hosted such an occasion for the town’s vital emergency services.
“It’s to say thank you for what they do for the community,” council general manager Peter Vlatko said.
“They are part of the community and they are important to the community…we do it every year.”

SES: Back, left to right, John Warren, Colleen Clancy, Bec Sheaff and Lyn Dray; (front) Robyn Warren, Brad Britt and Barrie Miller said they had a great night out thanks to council.
