by | September 26, 2013
THREE people have been rescued from the Lake Hume dam after their boat capsized yesterday evening.
Albury Police said about a man, 38, and his two children, aged eight and 11, were headed back to the shore about 6pm when their boat capsized and sunk.
They managed to swim a considerable distance to a tree in the water.
The man's family notified police when they hadn't returned by 8pm and a rescue squad comprising of the NSW Volunteer Rescue Association and NSW SES was sent out to search for them.
The man and his boys were found clinging to the tree at 11.30pm, taken back to shore and treated for mild hypothermia.
