From stall to squall in seconds as savage storm hits the city:narrabeen Markets cops the brunt

MARKET stallholders were literally blown away yesterday as a severe storm struck Sydney.

Displays stands and temporary marquees at Narrabeen Markets were destroyed and blown across a busy roadway during the storm, which also saw cars crushed by falling trees and thousands of homes on the northern beaches left without power.

The storm, the second in two days to tear through the city, hit hardest in the northern suburbs, with SES volunteers late yesterday still working through almost 200 jobs.
