Funds boost to SES - Forbes Advocate

by Sophie Harris | November 5, 2014

The Services Club donated $1100 to the Forbes SES, which local controller Roc Walshaw said will go towards GPS cameras to assist with floods.

“I just have to find out what brand and what model is best suited,” he said.

“They would have been really handy in the last floods...they give a photo and location of where the water is and work into the mapping system on your computer.”

Mr Walshaw said Forbes has never had that type of equipment.

He said he’d hope to get two GPS cameras with the money from Forbes Services Memorial Club, depending on the price, as well as another hand GPS if money allows.

“That would be the icing on top of the cake,” he said.

Jackie Lord from Forbes Services Memorial Club said she is thrilled to be able to give out so many donations to worthy local organisations.

“I’m excited about the amount of money that’s gone out to the community lately and helping different organisations is great,” she said.

“Finding out the uses of the money and all the different causes is good.”
