Homes damaged as wild winds rage - Gloucester Advocate
by | July 29, 2014
GLOUCESTER SES crews were called to a home at Titaatee Creek on Sunday after strong winds ripped part of its roof away.
Gloucester SES coordinator Bruce Sun said the service had received four call outs as a result of the strong winds that buffeted the region.
“We tarped the home at Titaatee Creek after it lost about a third of its roof in the strong winds. A shed on the property also suffered damage to its roof,” he said.
“A tree also came down on a home in Church St. The home didn’t suffer any structural damage, but it pulled the gutters off.”
Mr Sun said there had been reports of trees down across roads through the shire, most of which were dealt with by council assisted by crews from the Rural Fire Service.
