NSW faces massive storm clean-up - Sky News
by | November 2, 2014
A hefty clean-up task awaits emergency services in NSW after wild weather whipped through parts of the state.
Power lines were brought down, electricity was cut and trees were ripped from the ground as storms lashed Sydney and surrounding regions on Saturday.
The storms claimed the life of a 15-year-old boy, who was struck by lightning on the Hunter coast.
The State Emergency Service logged more than 1140 jobs, mostly for around Sydney's western fringes.
SES spokeswoman Sue Pritchard said the number could rise as people return from weekends away to find their homes damaged.
It's forecast to be cooler on Sunday, with temperatures in the low 20s in the Sydney region and winds up to 20km/h.
