NSW weather: Woman hurt in car crushed by tree amid storms, wild winds on north coast - ABC
A woman has been seriously injured after her car was crushed by a tree struck by lightning during wild weather at Coffs Harbour on the New South Wales mid-north coast.
Emergency services worked for more than two hours to free the woman, who was taken to Coffs Harbour hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.
Emergency services have been kept busy on the north and mid-north coast with hundreds of calls for assistance, power outages and heavy wind and rain causing roof damage and trees across roads and powerlines.
State Emergency Service (SES) spokeswoman Caroline Ortel said more than 100 millimetres of rain had fallen in some areas overnight.
SES spokesman Steve Lawrence said there were more than 40 calls for assistance, mainly around the Hastings and Manning areas.
