Emergency services crews last night helped rescue a Parramatta homeless man from a fast-swelling Duck River.
Parramatta SES deputy team leader Rachael Goldsmith said the crew was busy with a leaking roof job in Dundas when they were called to attend a flood rescue in Factory Road, Granville, shortly after midnight.
‘‘When we got there police were on the scene and we called out to a guy who said he was stuck in water up to his knees,’’ Ms Goldsmith said.
‘‘He wasn’t a young man and the water was quite fast-growing.
‘‘Later we found out he was down there with his boat and his dogs, and his boat had run out of petrol.
