Parramatta homeless man rescued from river in huge overnight storm - Parramatta Sun

Emergency services crews last night helped rescue a Parramatta homeless man from a fast-swelling Duck River.

Parramatta SES deputy team leader Rachael Goldsmith said the crew was busy with a leaking roof job in Dundas when they were called to attend a flood rescue in Factory Road, Granville, shortly after midnight.

‘‘When we got there police were on the scene and we called out to a guy who said he was stuck in water up to his knees,’’ Ms Goldsmith said.

‘‘He wasn’t a young man and the water was quite fast-growing.

‘‘Later we found out he was down there with his boat and his dogs, and his boat had run out of petrol.
