UPDATED 8pm:
A 10-year old girl is in a stable condition in Lismore Base Hospital tonight after breaking her leg in a terrifying eight-metre fall at Marom Creek falls.
The girl suffered a compound fracture in the accident, which reportedly happened when she slipped on leaf litter at the clifftop, according to a Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter crewman.
The Westpac helicopter was called to the scene alongside local police and the Ballina SES, and treated the girl on the ground before electing to winch her out of the inaccessible area.
She was flown to Lismore Base Hospital with serious leg injuries and facial lacerations.
