Sydney’s State Emergency Service is working overtime as dozens of inner city homes, streets and buildings are impacted by the storms lashing the city.
Local controller for the SES City of Sydney unit, Kerri Barber described the storm as the worst weather event to affect Sydney in 2015.
“Surry Hills, Glebe, Redfern, Alexandria and all over the city has been hit really hard, it is the worst storm we have had this year because it has been so concentrated,” she said.
“It started yesterday and it built up overnight and continued for most of the night. The southern areas of Sydney have also been hit pretty badly.
