SES in need of helpers - Narromine News

by | July 29, 2014

How prepared are you for the next storm or flood? Who will help you, your neighbours, friends, family and other members of your community in that moment of need?

The NSW SES in Narromine, Warren and Nyngan are looking for volunteers to fill a vitally important role and provide assistance to the local community when mother nature strikes.

NSW SES Macquarie Region Deputy Controller Phil Lalor is urging people in the towns of Narromine, Warren and Nyngan to support their local NSW SES by becoming a volunteer.

“Being a member of the NSW SES doesn’t mean you have to climb on roofs, cut up trees or drive a flood boat. There are an incredible number of roles available for volunteers to become involved in, including community engagement, operations management, logistics, media, unit management and leadership,” said Mr Lalor.

“You’ll learn an incredible range of useful skills that can be used in a range of workplaces outside the NSW SES.

“You’ll also meet new friends and have the satisfaction of helping your community when it needs it the most,” Mr Lalor continued.

Your community needs you, so if you’re interested in helping out and being part of a great team volunteer with the NSW SES.

A volunteering information session is being held at:

Narromine - Monday April 7 at 7pm at Narromine SES, Manildra Street, Warren - Tuesday April 8 at 7pm at Warren SES, 9 Readford Street, Nyngan - Wednesday April 9 at 7pm at Nyngan SES, Railway Parade.
