by By Nick Soon | July 29, 2014
The SES received nearly 100 SOS calls from residents whose houses were affected by heavy rain and storms over the past four days in Blacktown and Mt Druitt.
Most of the calls related to leaking roofs, fallen trees on houses and on roads in the two areas.
Worst affected was Shalvey (18 reports), followed by Whalan (10) and Lethbridge Park (nine).
SES Mt Druitt controller Peter Lalor said more than 30 officers from his unit, Hills and Canada Bay attended to about 60 calls for help from Thursday to Sunday morning.
