SES takes training up a notch - Cootamundra Herald
THE Cootamundra SES has welcomed the addition of a new training facility, making their depot one of only two in the Murrumbidgee area with the means to conduct training exercises.
Installed by crane on Wednesday morning, the structure will enable the State Emergency Service to replicate scenarios which their volunteers may face out in the field.
The project was put in motion by Cootamunra SES volunteer Jason McDonnell who said it is another step in the right direction for the Cootamundra unit.
“The Cootamundra SES has come a long way in the last couple of years and having this will again help us grow in stature,” he said.
“There was definitely a big need for another one of these in the area and we are happy that it is Cootamundra.”
Aside from the Tumut crane company that was hired to install the facility, the SES has used local materials and resources to bring the project into fruition.
