SES volunteers handle emergensies as rising waters cut roads - coffs Coast Advocate
STATE Emergency Services volunteers were called out in North Macksville overnight to evacuate 75 homes in danger from rising flood waters.
While the low pressure system is losing strength and the rain will continue to ease, the needs of residents in danger of inundation by rising waterways will continue for some hours yet.
In Bellingen Shire, Thora and Darkwood are cut off and that situation could last for several days.
The RMS has advised Waterfall Way is closed in both directions 5km west of Bellingen township and will remain closed until further notice.

SES spokesman Phil Campbell said people around Bellingen and the Coffs Coast should delay all non-essential travel.
"The town of Bellingen which sits on the Waterfall Way between the coast and Armidale is likely to be cut off in the next few hours," he said.
On Saturday morning the SES began a tactical operation to help Bellinger River Tourist Park relocate caravans to higher ground.
Coffs Harbour SES is monitoring the situation and issued another plea for commonsense and safety.
"Whatever you do please do not drive or walk through flood waters," a spokesperson said.
