State Emergency Services turns to high school students to train the next generation - The Daily Tele

AMID a spate of summer storms, a new SES course for high school students is ­certainly good news.

The State Emergency ­Service cadet program is training the next generation of volunteers to call on in a crisis.

The short school course, backed by Origin Energy as part of International Volunteers Day, will help bolster SES ranks from Ballina to Broken Hill. The students will receive ­nationally accredited training that they can take into the workforce.
