There is a Roadshow coming to a town near you!

In what will be the largest project to date in the NSW SES Volunteers Association and the NSW SES’s history, both organisations are going on a Roadshow around NSW.

The NSW SES VA & NSW SES Roadshow is a travelling forum for members of the NSW SES to have a say.

“Both Organisations are working closely together to make these events a success.” NSW SES VA Chairman, Charlie Moir said.

“The roadshow concept was a dream of our volunteers that has now become a reality. We are going to give every member a genuine way to provide feedback on their Service, to help shape it for the future.”

The Roadshows are taking place in 21 locations across the state, with the Project Team travelling a minimum of 14, 500kms to meet with volunteers and document their feedback.

“It is such an exciting opportunity for all members of the NSW SES,” Project Manager Erin Pogmore said.

“The last five months have been a very emotional time for a lot of our members, many of whom have invested years and countless hours to the Service and their community, so the Roadshow is a really positive step forward.”

The ‘no-rank’ structure of the Roadshow and the use of an independent facilitator are all part of a strategy to create an environment of open, honest and transparent feedback.

“I whole-heartedly encourage every past and present member of the NSW SES to participate. Accessibility is one of our highest priorities and we have mechanisms in place for each and every person to be heard.” Project Manager Shannon Crofton said.

The final calendar with location, times and dates will be released soon, but the first Roadshow on the 15th March, 2014 is booked in for Broken Hill.

“There has never been a better time for an event like this.” A/Commissioner Jim Smith said.

“This is (the member’s) opportunity to have direct input into the future of their SES.”
