A bushwalker lost in a dense area in Sydney’s north for 24 hours has been found dead.

Police had been searching bushland at Hornsby Heights for Lynne Andrew, 52, who did not return from a regular bushwalk on Sunday.

Search efforts began last night and about 11.30am today police found her body in bushland off Old Berowra Road at Asquith.

A crime scene was established where Ms Andrew’s body was found and it is being examined by specialist forensic officers and detectives.

Her death is not believed to be suspicious.

Search efforts were begun at 10pm on Sunday, but suspended during the night. In the morning police from the riot squad, dogs, and SES volunteers combed Hornsby Heights bush around Rofe Park.
